Santosh Sawant aka Pawa (that means ‘Flute’ in Marathi) with his upcoming film ‘Jhamela’ attempts to bring fore the forgotten world of folk music to this modern world.
The story has autobiographical shades of Santosh's own childhood experiences and that gives the movie the realistic touch. The movie also explores the nuances of delicate relationships existing in village folks against the stark contrast of dry relationships in urban world. The highlight of the movie is its music with heavy doses of folk music flavors.
Santosh Sawant that turns out to be the composer, singer, actor, director of his upcoming movie said “Everyone goes through Jhamela in their lives. I am playing a folk musician and what hurdles comes my way is been shown in the film very beautifully“
The film also stars Pritika Chauhan who is currently playing the role of Saraswati in Siya Ke Ram on colors. When asked about jer character in the film, she said " I am playing a Mumbai based actress in the film and playing as a helping hand to Pawa when he comes to Mumbai to make his dreams come true"
When asked about his co-actor Pawa she said "He is a Jhamela himself" (laughs)
Spandan Chaturvedi, little ‘Chakor’ of the popular television serial ‘Udaan’ also has an appearance in the film, Pawa said he is my childhood friend fromt he village who supports and encourages me to go to Mumbai.
The film is scheduled to release on April 22nd.
